Group 1 - Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. has initiated a recall plan for 2,638 units of the plug-in hybrid INSPIRE series vehicles produced between April 27, 2023, and March 26, 2025, and 1,784 units of the pure electric S7 series vehicles produced between January 21, 2025, and April 25, 2025 [1] - GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. has initiated a recall plan for 16,329 units of the plug-in hybrid ACCORD series vehicles produced between November 25, 2022, and August 25, 2025, and 1,945 units of the pure electric P7 series vehicles produced between January 22, 2025, and July 31, 2025 [2] Group 2 - The recall is due to a potential issue with the power control system software, which may misinterpret electrical noise from the power chip as a system fault, leading to a system reboot and loss of vehicle drive power, posing safety risks [2] - The onboard diagnostic (OBD) data for the plug-in hybrid vehicles may be cleared due to the system reboot, failing to meet light-duty vehicle pollutant emission standards, thus presenting unreasonable emission risks [2] - Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda will provide free software upgrades for the recalled vehicles to eliminate safety hazards and unreasonable emission risks [2]
