Group 1 - The company, WeRide, has launched its autonomous shuttle, Robobus, in Leuven, Belgium, marking its entry into the 11th global market and further expanding its European operations after France, Spain, and Switzerland [2] - The project is a collaboration between WeRide, DeLijn (Flanders public transport company), the Leuven city government, and mobility consulting firm Espaces-Mobilités, with public road testing set to begin in mid-September 2023 [2] - If testing is successful and approved by the Ministry of Transport, DeLijn plans to commence trial operations between mid-November 2025 and the end of January 2026, representing Belgium's first commercial deployment of autonomous vehicles in a mixed traffic environment [2] Group 2 - In addition to Belgium, WeRide is accelerating its expansion into other European markets, having participated in the Intelligent Automated Mobility (iamo) pilot project in Switzerland, where it has begun mapping work in various regions [3] - Earlier in February 2023, WeRide partnered with Renault Group, French autonomous operator beti, and insurance group Macif to launch the first public road Robobus fully autonomous commercial operation project in Drôme, France [3]
