Group 1 - The CIGRE Bosnia Committee will focus on enhancing the flexibility of the power system, participating in the 2026 Paris International CIGRE Conference, and organizing the fifth CIRED power distributors conference [1] - The committee will assess the outcomes of this year's activities and concentrate on various technical, organizational, and economic issues that will remain significant in the coming year [1] - Bosnia will face an unavoidable increase in grid usage fees [1] Group 2 - Starting from early 2026, the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will fully cover Bosnia's electricity export sector, hindering the export and trading of renewable energy electricity [1] - Bosnia has committed to establishing a power exchange and a carbon emissions trading system as a corresponding mechanism to the European Emissions Trading System (ETS) [1] - The implementation of the "Electricity Regulation, Transmission and Market Law" is a crucial step towards European integration and modernization of the domestic market, which is also a prerequisite for avoiding CBAM taxation on electricity before 2030 [1] Group 3 - The CIGRE Committee believes that Bosnia needs to align its power industry development plans with neighboring countries in terms of grid integration, market synchronization, technical planning, and generation structure [2] - The technical choices of each country, such as the share of renewable energy, storage, or flexible capacity configuration, directly impact regional power flow and cross-border exchange capabilities [2] - Cross-border cooperation is key to supply security and decarbonization, and CIGRE will continue to promote collaboration among power institutions in Bosnia and the Western Balkans [2]
