Group 1: Technological Advancements - Meteorological technology is achieving high levels of self-reliance and strength with the development of detection equipment and technologies such as Fengyun satellites, Beidou sounding, and weather radars [3]. - The meteorological forecasting models "Wind Thunder," "Wind Clear," "Wind Smooth," and "Wind Universe" have reached international advanced levels [3]. - The Chinese Meteorological Administration has established 39 key open laboratories and 44 field scientific experiment bases, along with the creation of 6 new research and development institutions [3]. Group 2: Modernization Achievements - A comprehensive meteorological observation system has been built, consisting of 9 Fengyun satellites, 842 weather radars, and over 90,000 ground meteorological observation stations [5]. - The monitoring rate for hazardous weather has improved to 83%, and the warning time for severe convective weather has been advanced by 13% [5]. - The system can forecast regional heavy rain, high temperatures, and cold waves 3 to 7 days in advance, predict national significant weather events 15 days ahead, and provide climate anomaly forecasts 6 months in advance [5].
