Core Insights - Guangdong's cross-border e-commerce import and export scale has surged from 11.3 billion yuan in 2015 to 745.4 billion yuan in 2024, marking a 66-fold increase over nine years with an average annual growth rate of 60%, accounting for over one-third of the national total and maintaining the top position in the country [1][3] Group 1 - Guangzhou's cumulative cross-border e-commerce import and export value has exceeded 700 billion yuan over the past decade, with a projected value of over 180 billion yuan in 2024. In the first half of this year, the city achieved an import and export value of 116.9 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 43.1% [3] - The Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce aims to establish itself as a cross-border e-commerce demonstration province by focusing on three key areas: developing 30 advantageous industrial belts and nurturing 300 backbone enterprises within three years, launching a special action to expand new markets in collaboration with leading e-commerce platforms, and strengthening the e-commerce development hubs in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Eastern Guangdong to upgrade the 21 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones in the province [3] Group 2 - The current cross-border e-commerce trade fair spans over 40,000 square meters, running from August 15 to 17, attracting over 1,000 quality supply chain enterprises, 42 major domestic and international cross-border e-commerce platforms, and nearly 200 ecosystem service providers. A total of 900 enterprises from 23 provinces and municipalities, including Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Anhui, are participating, with more than 1,800 standard exhibition booths [5] - Guangdong has 594 enterprises participating in the fair, showcasing 18 advantageous industrial belts such as beauty products from Guangzhou, home appliances from Foshan, lighting from Zhongshan, and toys from Shantou in themed exhibition areas. To better adapt to new trade trends and mitigate risks in overseas expansion, the fair has also introduced an AI section for cross-border e-commerce and a compliance section for overseas operations [5]
