Disconnected by connection | Daniel Todd | TEDxIntl School Of Uganda
TEDx Talks· 2026-03-20 14:43
You've seen it. You've probably done it. It's that single lean forward pose staring at our devices. It's ubiquitous across every environment we find ourselves in. at the airport, at the bus station, on the metro, waiting for the bus, at the restaurant, even at our own dining tables. It's our relentless obsession with our smartphones. I was sitting on the sidelines of my child's football game just a few weeks ago alongside other parents either side of me. Each of us with our foroding brick securely fastened ...
"Networking is BS"
20VC with Harry Stebbings· 2026-03-13 05:00
Networking is BS. It is about the depth of your relationships, not about the breadth. It's about when I call you, will you be able to help me and do as much as I need you to to the depth that I need you to.It's not about exchanging business cards at a networking event. Networking is also transactional. We do not operate actually in a transactional world. We operate in a human world where you want to have to help someone. It's not a requirement transaction to do so. Remove networking. ...

If you walk away from a conversation with a clear sense of one or two issues someone’s facing, share a relevant industry report, article, video, podcast episode, or book with them afterwards. Even if the resource isn’t life-changing, the gesture of making someone feel heard and helped will not go unnoticed. While hard work and achievement are important to your career, most opportunities arise from strong relationships. And in a world that’s become increasingly fragmented, dispersed, digitized, and virtual, b ...
More than a meal: Life lessons from my table. | Ms. Ami Kothari | TEDxHeritageGirlsSchool
TEDx Talks· 2026-03-03 17:13
When was the last time you sat on a table and didn't rush. No gulping down your food, no phone buzzing next to you, no TV seeking your attention. Just clink of the cutlery, flicker of the candles, and real conversations.Growing up, my most beautiful memories were those around the table. I grew up in a family with my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, my cousins, my brother. Dining table was the center of our connection where everyone came, shared their stories, learning and laughter was shared. And I foun ...

Have you ever walked away from a conversation feeling like your entire mood changed. Maybe you felt lighter or maybe you felt like something inside you just shut down. That's the power of relationships.Every connection we have with friends, families, partners, even ourselves leaves a mark on our mental health. Some relationships lift us up. Some leave us questioning our width and some we don't even realize are affecting us until much later. We talk a lot about mental health like it's something we manage on o ...

like, Mhm. Yeah. Yeah.Uh-huh. Right. Go ahead. And you go, I don't want this. You let go because it's like, this isn't real connection. Long Walks and Understanding | Rastri Anez | TEDxUniversitasAirlangga
TEDx Talks· 2026-02-17 17:33
Love is not a spark that flares instantly; it’s a quiet garden that blooms over time. It grows in daily acts of patience, in the grace of understanding, in showing up even when unglamorous. Love matures through missteps, forgiveness, and shared silence — not just through grand declarations. To truly love is to walk alongside someone, to see and honor the love that has always been there, unnoticed yet steadfast. “Love is a journey between souls, growing in the hush between words, in the pause between storms. ...
How to Deal with our Complex Relationship | Minerva Geng | TEDxYouth@BHIS
TEDx Talks· 2026-02-17 17:19
So today I'm standing here to discuss a real headache that every single person might face one day. From the moment we were born, we begin to form different kinds of relationships with different people. Usually the first relationship we establish was with our parents of course and followed by friends, teachers and so on until we enter the society. In a sense, human life is all about relationships. Whether it's with classmate, teachers, colleagues, or even the strangers who met in the street, relationships sha ...
Your foundation: what endures when everything else changes | Aigerim Shorman | TEDxLosAltosWomen
TEDx Talks· 2026-02-13 17:02
So, I'm going to talk about change today. To most of us, change is terrifying. We're built to crave familiarity and comfort. But change happens to all of us, whether we choose it or we have to confront it. To me, change comes more naturally. I've changed my career 180 degrees multiple times from an aspiring pop star to investment banking analyst to a high school teacher to a startup founder and now an executive at a major tech company.I've also moved continents from Kazakhstan to the United States when I tha ...
