日前,位于安徽合肥科学岛的中国"人造太阳"全超导托卡马克核聚变实验装置EAST物理实验,基于边界等离子体与壁相互作用自组织理论,证实了托卡 马克密度自由区的存在。相关成果2026年1月1日在国际学术期刊《科学进展》发表。 对于未来聚变堆,聚变功率正比于燃料密度的平方,因此高密度运行是提高聚变能经济性的必然选择。"密度极限"是上世纪末发现的纯经验定标,接近密 度极限的托卡马克运行将引发等离子体破裂,巨大的能量会瞬间释放到装置内壁,影响装置的安全运行。国际聚变界完善了跨装置的经验定标,并在芯部 弹丸注入等特定条件下获得了超密度极限运行,逐步明确触发密度极限的物理过程发生于边界区域,但对其中的物理机制并不十分清楚。 在本项工作中,研究团队发展了边界等离子体与壁相互作用自组织(PWSO)理论模型,指出了边界辐射在密度极限触发中的关键作用,解析出了辐射不 稳定性边界;揭示了密度极限的触发机理,预测了密度极限之外的密度自由区。实验上依托EAST全金属壁运行环境,利用电子回旋共振加热和预充气协 同启动等方法降低边界杂质溅射,主动延迟了密度极限和等离子体破裂的发生。实验上通过控制靶板的物理条件,降低了靶板钨杂质主导的物理溅射 ...
